Have you ever thought, “I wish these planes could talk”? Well, they can’t. But pilots can! Join retired pilot Jerry Loan for a tour unlike any other. Jerry spent almost 50 years as a bush pilot, flight instructor, Transport Canada Inspector, and bird dog pilot. Jerry is one of our amazing volunteer tour guides, and on May 29th at 5:30pm he will turn his own 14,000 flying hours into one hour of flying stories.
Jerry Loan began his flying career in 1968 as a newly minted commercial pilot working at Austin Airways as an apprentice aircraft mechanic and crew on the Canso. He became a bush pilot, flight instructor and a Transport Canada Operational Inspector, working across Canada from Calgary to Moncton. Finishing his career as Director of Training for Discovery Air Fire in Dryden, Jerry had 14,000 flying hours over almost 50 years when he retired in 2015.
