Event Volunteer Application Forms

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is a non-profit organization that holds several events throughout the year.  If you are a student looking to gain some hours for school, a retiree with extra time on your hand or anyone in between, CBHC Events is the perfect place to volunteer some of your time. Volunteers are essential to helping make fundraising events fun, safe and successful. Each event we have comes with different types of volunteer opportunities that are perfect for all types of people.

Volunteer Duties - Family Day 2024

Cookie Decorating Helper

You will be helping Jasmine (program coordinator) with cookie decorating. Helping to organize the kids and families and keeping the supplies organized.

Craft Helper

You will be helping Jasmine (program coordinator) with different crafts for the kids. Helping the kids as they need it, and keeping supplies organized and tidy.

Games Helper

You will be assisting staff in the game section of the event. You will be helping to get families set up, help them choose a game, clean up and ensure all pieces are back in the appropriate boxes.

Parking

You will be working with Reg & John to help direct parking. Direct guests where to park and ensure that vendors are parked in their specific locations

Photographer Support

You will be assisting our photographer in the Children’s Discovery Centre. Help the photographer and clients as needed.

Vendor Support

Make yourselves known to the  vendors and ensure they know that you are there to help them if needed for bathroom breaks etc.

Visitor Records

As each guest or group of guests starts to enter the craft show, ask each of them “Are you from Sault Ste. Marie?”. If the answer is “no”, then ask where they are from. Record the response in the corresponding column on the Visitor Records tracking sheet. using tally marks. Try to space tally marks evently so they are easier to count at the end (ie: only do 5 groupings of 5 per row, keep the rows even.
